A Warm Potato Bag - A free project from Warm

New in the store this week is "Warm Tater".   A batting perfect for all microwave and kitchen projects.

Fun Project for Warm Tater:  Potato Bag Instructions:
Potato bags are all the rage and The Warm Company has the right batting for all your microwave and kitchen projects! Warm Tater is 100% natural cotton that hasn’t been chemically treated making it ideal for cooking potatoes, corn, rolls and warming tortillas in the microwave. Warm Tater is heavy weight 100% natural cotton that acts as an insulator keeping the moisture inside for fresh, hot steamy potatoes & so much more!   Use the free pattern featured on the bolt wrapper or package to create your own. This quick, simple & practical project makes a great gift item!
Warm Tater and your cotton fabrics do not need to be pre-washed. Once complete you will wash together. Measure the inside dimensions of your microwave and adjust the pattern accordingly considering that the finished bag must be at least one full inch away from the walls and door of the microwave. CAUTION: If your microwave has a turntable, it is important that your potato bag be allowed to freely rotate or scorching may occur that could lead to fire if left unattended.
1) Cut a 22" long x 11" wide piece of Warm Tater cotton and 2 pieces of 100% cotton fabric. One is the lining and the other is decorator fabric.
2.) Layer the Warm Tater cotton between the two layers of fabric right sides out. Quilt or tack layers together leaving no more than 5" open.
3) Surge or sew using a zig zag stitch the 3 layers together on all sides.
4) Create finished hems on each of the width ends by folding the fabric to the inside a ½” and sewing it down using a straight stitch.
5) Fold the fabrics into a 10" square inside out with the hems centered and overlapping l'. Pin and sew all sides with a straight stitch and 1/2" seam allowance.
6) Turn right side out. Machine wash cold water and dry in warm dryer before use. Enjoy!
Potatoes - 2 large = 3 minutes
Red Potatoes - 2 large = 8 minutes
Sweet Potatoes-2 medium=10 minutes
Rolls-3 medium = 20 seconds
    Tortillas – l Package = 30 seconds
    Corn on the Cob - 2 1arge = 6 minutes
Estimates based on an 1100 watt microwave with turntable. No turntable? Turn your bag over at the midpoint of the suggested cook time to prevent scorching. Wash vegetables. Drying is not necessary as the moisture aids in cooking.
